The Kwik-Pay award structure allows common pay rates and leave entitlements to be created for groups of employees, saving the chore of updating pay rates for individuals when they change.

You can define any number of different awards. Each award to split into classifications, which are categories of employees within the award. For instance, a clerical award may have different classifications for 'under 18', '18 to 20', '20 and over' and 'manager'. There can be any number of classifications within each award. Classifications are defined separately.

Note that an employee can be paid at an alternative classification rate if their work is allocated to specific cost centres. An example might be an Registered Nurse level 1 who gets paid level 2 rate if they work in an intensive care unit, but the principle is applicable to other work environments. See the classification edit form for more details.

The pay rates and leave entitlements for each award step are effective dated, which means that the pay rate or leave entitlement will not be used in any calculations until the first pay date on or after the effective date.

To create an award, you must first create an award record using this form, then add Classifications, and finally add an Award Rate for each classification.

When you select an award for edit, or add a new award, the Award Edit form is displayed.
