The set up wizard is displayed automatically after you create a new payroll database. It guides you through the set up of the basic payroll information to the point where you can start entering your employee information.

Complete each form in turn, and click the Next button when you are complete. The Finish button will be enabled when you have completed enough information.

Registration Details

You will need to enter a registration number unless you are going to have more than five employees. Kwik-Pay will allow you to proceed without a registration key, and let you enter the details of the first five employees. It will not let you add the sixth employee.

If you have purchased a registration key, make sure you enter the company name in exactly the same format as supplied with the key. Kwik-Pay's registration key is based on the company name and is case sensitive.

Tax Information

This form requests the information required for tax office reports. The information required varies from country to country.

Pay Groups

Employees are grouped by pay frequency and the bank account from which they are paid. You will need to create a pay group for each pay frequency and separate bank account from which employees are paid.

You can add more pay groups at a later date by selecting the Pay Groups set up screen from the main menu (select View, Set up, then Pay Groups).

The set up wizard will require you to define at least one pay group.

Do not create more than one pay group with the same pay frequency, next pay date, and bank account. You will just be increasing your work load each pay day.

The bank account information is only required if you are going to create direct credit transaction files for your bank in Kwik-Pay.
